The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest technical professional society. Founded in 1884 by a handful of practitioners of the new electrical engineering discipline, today's Institute is comprised of more than 370,000 members who conduct and participate in its activities in approximately 150 countries. The men and women of the IEEE are the technical and scientific professionals making the revolutionary engineering advances which are reshaping our world today. |

When: Tuesday, November 15, 2011 Where: 309 Houser Hall Time: 6:00pm Speaker: Representative from Alabama Power Food: FREE Pizza and Drinks! Alabama Power will be our guest speaker and they will be sponsoring free pizza, so Roll Tide for we are broke college students. I hope everyone can make it! And spread the word!
When: Tuesday, October 4, 2011 Where: 309 Houser Hall Time: 6:00pm Speaker: Representative from Dynetics Food: FREE Zaxbys and Drinks! Dynetics will be hosting an IEEE meeting tomorrow at 6 pm in Houser Hall, Room 309! You do not have to be a member to come to the meeting. There will be FREE Zaxbys and Drinks provided! This is a good opportunity to find out about there intern, coop, and career positions they provide!
When: Wednesday, February 9, 2011 Where: 309 Houser Time: 6:00pm Speaker: Southern Company Food: TBA To all ECE students who are members of IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer): Every year, the IEEE student branch (consisting of UA ECE students who are active members of IEEE) decides who among themselves will receive the following awards and be recognized by the College during Honors Week: IEEE Outstanding Senior Award (completed 91 or more semester credit hours) IEEE Outstanding Junior Award (completed 61-90 semester credit hours) IEEE Outstanding Student Branch Member Award We would like to have all of you who are interested and eligible to meet briefly on Tuesday the 25th at 6:30 in Houser 309 to select who our awardees will be this year.
